Juvéderm and Botox treat different signs of aging. Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid filler that restores lost volume and fills in creases — think hollow cheeks, thin lips, and nasolabial folds. Botox is a neuromodulator that relaxes the muscles causing expression lines like crow's feet and forehead wrinkles. To reduce your risk of bruising, we recommend avoiding blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E for about a week beforehand, and skipping alcohol for 24 hours prior. Let your injector know if you have an upcoming event, dental work, or any history of cold sores, since we may adjust your timing or treatment plan.

For the first 24 to 48 hours, avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat like saunas and hot tubs, and prolonged sun exposure. Try not to massage or press on the treated area so the filler settles where it was placed. Sleeping on your back the first night can also help minimize swelling.

Yes. Because Juvéderm is made with hyaluronic acid, it can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This is one of the biggest advantages of HA fillers over permanent options — your results are fully reversible. It's rarely needed, but it's reassuring to know the option exists, especially if this is your first filler treatment.

That depends on the area being treated and how much volume you've lost. Lip enhancement often takes a single syringe, while restoring cheek volume typically requires two or more.
