Who discovered Latisse?
This story begins with a happy accident. You know – something that is intended for one purpose and then it is discovered to be perfect for something else? Kind of like how Rogaine’s original purpose was as a treatment for high blood pressure and Botox was first used to treat eye tics. We all know that both these products found other uses and we are FOREVER thankful.
Well guess what, it’s the same for Latisse! The active ingredient in Latisse is 0.03% bimatoprost, and it was first used for treating glaucoma or ocular hypertension. While patients experienced medical benefits, ophthalmologists began noticing that their patients were also starting to grow longer, darker, and fuller lashes.
After several clinical trials, physicians have come to find out that 78% of participants saw significant eyelash increase within 16 weeks. In fact, one published FDA-reviewed clinical trial states that around 140 volunteers’ eyelashes grew, on average, 25 percent longer, 106 percent thicker and 18 percent darker with Latisse than those in the non-treatment (control) group.
So how does it work?
Latisse works by stimulating the growth of new eyelashes as well as prolonging the hair shedding process. Because the natural lash growth cycle is about eight weeks (who knew it took that long), it can take awhile before you see results – we tell people 2-3 months – so we tell clients to be patient. The advantage to using Latisse over getting lash extensions is that you have your lashes 24/7 and do not have to worry about possible eye infections or scheduling appointments to keep them full.
So, if you have been thinking about longer lashes – this is your lucky month. When you purchase your 5.0 ml bottle of Latisse Flawless Med Spa will give you $25 off the $175 price. This is a limited offer so hurry because supplies are limited and once they are gone, they are gone.
Hope to see you soon –
