Voluma - Mid Cheek Volume

If you have lost volume in your mid face area and find that your facial features seem to droop, it may be time for a treatment with Voluma® filler. The only FDA approved filler for treatment in the cheek area, Voluma replaces volume loss through the aging process, rounding the apple of the cheeks and replenishing lost moisture within the skin. Its thicker texture gives Voluma unique lifting qualities. Increasing the volume of your cheeks will return the natural, youthful lift to your cheek area making you look younger and more vibrant.

What is Voluma?

Voluma is long lasting dermal filler, which lasts up to two years. Like Juvederm, the active ingredient is hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in the joints and connective tissue of the body. The breakthrough with Voluma is a thicker gel, which can be injected deeper than other fillers. It is specially formulated to lift and contour the cheeks and add volume to the cheekbones and jawline. As soon as the injections are completed, patients notice improved volume in the cheek area and a subtle lift which improves the lower face. Sagging jowls, laugh lines and other signs of aging get a boost with Voluma.

How It Works

Today’s fillers are made of Hyaluronic Acid, a substance that is naturally found in the body. The results are almost immediate and can last up to 12-18 months. Eventually, the filler breaks down and will start to dissipate. Most people who get fillers will need to schedule at least one follow-up injection within a year to maintain results.

Where Are Fillers Injected

Your face is like a canvas and your injector is the artist. There are a variety of choices when it comes to filler. Your nurse will make a recommendation on the best options to help achieve your desired results. Here are the areas that we can treat with filler at Flawless Med Spa.

How To Prepare

Please stop any blood thinning medications like Advil, Aleve, Motrin, or Ibuprofen along with flax seed supplements, fish oils, St, John’s Wart for 7 days prior to your treatment. We do our very best to inject in a way that minimizes bruising, however, we cannot guarantee that you will not bruise. Stopping these medications will help.

If you have any type of active breakout where we are injecting or cold sore around the lip area, we cannot treat you and will reschedule once the area has healed.

What To Expect

On the day of your appointment, you will meet with the nurse injector who will talk to you about the results you want to achieve. Flawless carries several products and choosing the right product will be based on the look you would like to attain. The nurse will take before and after photos, which are important when it comes tracking results.

The nurse will wash and clean your face. She will ask you to animate, smile, pucker, frown and will evaluate your facial symmetry. After the treatment, the nurse will clean your face; ice will be applied throughout the treatment to reduce any swelling. We will than apply sunscreen. You are welcome to bring and apply make up after your treatment.

After the procedure is complete you may have some minor swelling. Bruising is a possibility as the face is a highly vascular area.

Post Care

Avoid strenuous exercise and give your face 24 hours to settle and the swelling to calm. We will schedule you for a follow-up appointment in two weeks where we will take photos to see if we need to make any adjustments.

If you want additional filler, you will need to pay for it at the appointment. If you are totally unhappy, we can inject you with a product that will complete dissolve the filler 100%. There will be an additional cost to dissolve the filler. If you have any questions, please call the spa 505-888-1185.
