Some timely tips for avoiding the nasty Norovirus!
Ugh; I've got a bug! I fell victim to the latest nasty virus making it's way around town - the so-called "stomach bug" Norovirus. Apparently, it's easy to catch and hard to shake- just my luck! Symptoms include nausea, headache, body aches and last but not least, the desire to evacuate your body by any means possible; if you catch my drift. Several clients have mentioned the same symptoms in either themselves or their children; I decided to do a little research about how to avoid it in the first place (which I wish I'd done a little sooner)!
You are most contagious when you are sick with norovirus illness, and during the first 3 days after you recover. You can become infected by eating food or drinking liquids that are contaminated with norovirus, touching surfaces or objects contaminated with norovirus then putting your fingers in your mouth, or having contact with someone who is infected (for example, caring for or sharing food or eating utensils with someone with norovirus illness). To help prevent contracting the virus, Practice proper hand hygiene by washing your hands carefully with soap and water— especially after using the toilet and changing diapers, and always before eating, preparing, or handling food.
So in conclusion, all of the stuff that your mom taught you about being sanitary should do the trick! If you've managed to avoid it, Kudos to you; If you've got it, my sympathies! I hope you're back to feeling Flawless ASAP!

Prep your pout for Valentine's Day
With Valentine’s Day almost here, give your pout some oomph with natural-looking fillers. Products like Juvederm are Hyaluronic acid (HA) gels that can add back lost volume, as if re-stuffing a pillow. These products are unlikely to cause an allergic reaction because HA is found naturally in the body, and the results can last up to 12 months. In the event that you don’t like the results, there is a counteractive that can safely dissolve the filler.
You can also try a plumping gloss, with ingredients that mildly irritate and swell the lips, or use a conditioning lip product containing collagen or topical HA. These products attract water molecules to the skin and give a fuller appearance to the lips.
Finally, remember that glossy, light shades make lips look fuller than matte, dark ones. Add a spot of highlighter just above the Cupid’s bow (at the center of the top lip) and under the center of the bottom lip, for the illusion of a fuller pout.

It's never to late to start taking care of your skin!
Even if you’ve never taken care of your skin, it’s not too late to start. Your skin starts to age when you are only in your mid-20s. Your favorite products may not work as well anymore. Your genetics, regular habits and sun can cause these changes.
You need sun protection during daylight hours, even if it’s overcast or you are staying inside. The sun’s rays can pass through clouds and windows, leaving you exposed. Look for a sunscreen or moisturizer with broad-spectrum SPF of at least 30 and don’t forget your lips! If you are active or plan to be outside for long periods of time, remember that the key to safe exposure is to reapply often to stay protected.
Some skin care products have ingredients to get rid of dead cells and uncover the brighter, fresher skin underneath. Some ingredients to look for are salicylic acid or retinoids.
Here at Flawless Skin Spa, we have many medical grade products from NeoCutis, Epionce, Obaji & more. We can tailor a treatment plan to fit your specific needs. The combination of products and services that we offer will help to ensure that your skin is as Flawless as possible!
